Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather all necessary tools and parts.
  • Disconnect the battery to ensure safety while working.
2. Access the Serpentine Belt
  • Raise the front of the vehicle using a jack and secure it with jack stands.
  • Remove any components obstructing access to the serpentine belt, such as the engine cover if applicable.
3. Remove the Old Serpentine Belt
  • Locate the belt tensioner (usually a spring-loaded pulley).
  • Use a ratchet and socket to rotate the tensioner counterclockwise to relieve tension on the belt.
  • Slide the belt off the pulleys while maintaining tension on the tensioner.
  • Carefully release the tensioner back to its resting position.
4. Install the New Serpentine Belt
  • Refer to the belt routing diagram (usually located on a sticker under the hood) to ensure correct installation.
  • Position the new serpentine belt around the pulleys as per the routing diagram.
  • Rotate the tensioner counterclockwise again and slide the belt over the tensioner pulley.
  • Release the tensioner to apply tension to the belt.
5. Reassemble and Test
  • Reinstall any components that were removed to access the belt.
  • Reconnect the battery.
  • Start the engine and observe for proper belt operation and listen for any unusual noises.
