Solution
1. Preparation
  • Ensure the vehicle is in park or neutral with the parking brake engaged.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
2. Battery Replacement (if necessary)
  • Tools Required: Wrench set, battery terminal cleaner, safety gloves.
  • Remove the battery terminals, starting with the negative (-) terminal and then the positive (+) terminal.
  • Take out the old battery and clean the battery tray with a wire brush.
  • Place the new battery in the tray and secure it.
  • Connect the positive (+) terminal first, followed by the negative (-) terminal.
3. Starter Motor Inspection/Replacement (if necessary)
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, safety gloves.
  • Locate the starter motor, which is usually found on the lower side of the engine.
  • Remove the electrical connections from the starter (note their positions).
  • Unscrew the bolts securing the starter motor and remove it from the engine.
  • Inspect the starter for signs of wear or damage; replace if necessary.
  • Install the new starter by reversing the removal steps and torque the bolts to the manufacturer's specifications.
4. Check and Replace Starter Relay (if necessary)
  • Tools Required: Fuse puller or needle-nose pliers.
  • Locate the fuse box under the hood and identify the starter relay.
  • Remove the starter relay and test it with a multimeter for continuity.
  • Replace with a new relay if it fails the test.
