Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather all necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface, and the engine is cool.
2. Inspect and Repair Air Intake System
  • Tools Required: Screwdriver set, vacuum gauge.
  • Check all hoses and connections for leaks. Replace any damaged hoses.
  • If leaks are found, use appropriate sealants or replace hose assemblies as needed.
3. Clean or Replace MAF Sensor
  • Tools Required: MAF sensor cleaner, torx or socket set.
  • Disconnect the MAF sensor electrical connector.
  • Remove the MAF sensor from the air intake duct.
  • Clean the MAF sensor using an appropriate cleaner and let it dry. If damaged, replace it with a new sensor.
4. Check Fuel System
  • Tools Required: Fuel pressure gauge.
  • Connect the fuel pressure gauge to the fuel rail.
  • Turn the ignition on (do not start the engine) and check the fuel pressure. It should meet manufacturer specifications.
  • If low, check the fuel pump and fuel filter. Replace as necessary.
5. Inspect Oxygen Sensors
  • Tools Required: O2 sensor socket, multimeter.
  • Check the front oxygen sensor for proper voltage and response time using a multimeter.
  • If faulty, replace the oxygen sensor with a new one, ensuring it is compatible with the Clio V.
6. Clear the Code
  • Reconnect the battery if it was disconnected.
  • Use the OBD-II scanner to clear the P0171 code from the ECM.
