Solution

1. Preparation

• Gather necessary tools and parts.
• Park the vehicle on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
• Place wheel chocks behind the rear wheels for safety.

2. Remove Wheel

• Tools Required: Jack, jack stands, lug wrench.
• Loosen the lug nuts slightly while the vehicle is on the ground.
• Lift the vehicle with the jack and secure it with jack stands.
• Completely remove the lug nuts and take off the wheel.

3. Inspect Brake Components

• Visually check the brake pads for thickness; replace if worn below 3mm.
• Measure the rotor thickness with a micrometer; replace if below the minimum specification or if warped.
• Ensure calipers are not sticking and are properly mounted. Clean or replace if necessary.

4. Replace Brake Pads and Rotors (if needed)

• Remove caliper bolts using a socket set and carefully hang the caliper (do not stress the brake line).
• Remove old brake pads and replace them with new ones.
• If replacing rotors, detach the rotor from the hub and install the new rotor, ensuring it is properly seated.

5. Reassemble Components

• Reattach the caliper and torque the bolts to the manufacturer’s specifications.
• Reinstall the wheel and hand-tighten the lug nuts.
• Lower the vehicle off the jack stands and fully tighten the lug nuts in a crisscross pattern to the specified torque.
