Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Park the vehicle on a flat surface and engage the parking brake.
  • Wear safety gloves and goggles.
2. Inspect and Replace CV Joint
  1. Lift the Vehicle

    • Use a jack to lift the front of the vehicle and secure it with jack stands.
    • Tools Required: Floor jack, jack stands.
  2. Remove the Wheel

    • Loosen and remove the lug nuts, then take off the wheel.
    • Tools Required: Lug wrench.
  3. Inspect the CV Joint

    • If applicable, inspect the inner CV joint as well.
  4. Replace CV Joint

    • Remove the retaining clip and pull the CV joint from the axle shaft.
    • Apply grease to the new CV joint and install it onto the axle shaft.
    • Secure with the retaining clip.
3. Tighten or Replace Steering Components
  1. Inspect Steering Linkage

    • Check all bolts and nuts on the steering rack and linkage for proper torque.
    • Tighten any loose connections as needed.
  2. Replace Damaged Components

    • If any parts of the steering linkage are damaged, replace them with new parts.
  3. Reassemble

    • Reinstall the wheel and tighten the lug nuts to the manufacturer’s specified torque.
    • Tools Required: Torque wrench.
4. Lower the Vehicle
  • Carefully remove jack stands and lower the vehicle back to the ground.
