Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools: OBD-II scanner, small screwdriver set (for fob), replacement battery, and a multimeter (optional).
  • Wear safety gloves to avoid skin contact with battery acids.
2. Replace Key Fob Battery
  1. Open the key fob using the small screwdriver to gently pry apart the casing.
  2. Remove the old battery, taking note of the battery orientation.
  3. Insert the new battery (commonly CR2032), ensuring it is oriented the same way as the old one.
  4. Reassemble the key fob casing securely.
3. Test Key Fob Functionality
  1. Stand within a few feet of the vehicle.
  2. Press the unlock button on the key fob to check if the doors unlock.
  3. If unsuccessful, proceed to reprogram the key fob.
4. Reprogram Key Fob (if necessary)
  1. Insert the key into the ignition and turn to the 'On' position (without starting the engine).
  2. Within 10 seconds, press the unlock button on the fob for approximately 5 seconds.
  3. Turn the key back to the 'Off' position and remove it.
  4. Test the key fob again to confirm functionality.
