Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather all necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is on a level surface and the engine is cool.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
2. Inspect and Replace Oxygen Sensors
  • Tools Required: O2 sensor socket, torque wrench
  • Remove the upstream and downstream oxygen sensors using the O2 sensor socket.
  • Inspect the sensors for contamination or damage.
  • If faulty, replace with new sensors.
  • Torque new sensors to manufacturer's specifications.
3. Replace Catalytic Converter
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, exhaust gasket
  • Remove the exhaust pipe connected to the catalytic converter using the socket set.
  • Disconnect any heat shields or brackets securing the catalytic converter.
  • Remove the old catalytic converter and inspect the mounting surfaces.
  • Install the new catalytic converter in place, ensuring proper alignment.
  • Replace any gaskets or seals as needed.
  • Torque bolts to manufacturer specifications.
4. Check Exhaust System
