Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Jack and jack stands, socket set, torque wrench, inspection mirror, pry bar.
  • Safety Warnings: Ensure the vehicle is on a flat surface and use jack stands for safety. Wear safety glasses when inspecting.
2. Remove Wheels
  • Loosen lug nuts with a socket set while the vehicle is on the ground.
  • Raise the vehicle using a jack and secure it on jack stands.
  • Remove lug nuts completely and take off the wheels.
3. Inspect and Replace Suspension Components
  • Sway Bar Links:
    • Use a wrench to remove the bolts securing the sway bar links to the sway bar and lower control arm.
    • Inspect for wear and replace if necessary.
  • Shocks/Struts:
    • Remove the top nut securing the shock/strut assembly in the engine bay.
    • Detach the lower mount bolts from the control arm.
    • Replace with new shocks/struts if worn.
  • Control Arm Bushings:
    • Use a pry bar to check for play in the control arms.
    • Replace bushings if they show signs of excessive wear or damage.
4. Reassemble and Torque Components
  • Reinstall all components in the reverse order of removal.
  • Ensure all bolts and nuts are torqued to manufacturer specifications using a torque wrench.
5. Reinstall Wheels
  • Place wheels back on the hubs and hand-tighten lug nuts.
  • Lower the vehicle off the jack stands and tighten the lug nuts to the specified torque.
