Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
  • Allow the engine to cool before starting the repair.
2. Remove the Fuel Injector
  • Tools Required: Socket set, fuel line removal tool, torque wrench.
  • Relieve the fuel system pressure by removing the fuel pump fuse and starting the engine until it stalls.
  • Disconnect the fuel lines from the injector using a fuel line removal tool.
  • Unplug the electrical connector from the fuel injector.
  • Remove the bolts securing the fuel rail (if applicable) and gently lift the fuel rail to access the injector.
  • Carefully pull the leaking fuel injector out of the engine.
3. Inspect and Replace
  • Inspect the old injector for damage or debris.
  • Clean the injector port in the engine with a lint-free cloth.
  • Apply a small amount of engine oil to the O-ring of the new injector to ensure a proper seal.
  • Insert the new fuel injector into the port and secure it in place.
4. Reassemble and Test
  • Reattach the fuel rail (if applicable) and torque the bolts to the manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Reconnect the electrical connector and fuel lines to the injector.
  • Reinstall the fuel pump fuse and reconnect the negative battery terminal.
  • Start the engine and check for leaks around the new injector.
