Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface and the engine is cool.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
2. Inspect and Replace Engine Oil
  • Remove the oil drain plug using a socket set and drain the old oil into a suitable container.
  • Replace the oil filter with a new one.
  • Fill the engine with the recommended oil type (check the owner’s manual for specifications).
  • Reconnect the oil drain plug and ensure it is torqued to the manufacturer’s specifications.
3. Check and Replace VVT Solenoid
  • Locate the VVT solenoid (refer to the service manual for exact location).
  • Disconnect the electrical connector from the solenoid.
  • Remove the bolts securing the solenoid using a socket set.
  • Install the new VVT solenoid and torque the bolts to specifications.
  • Reconnect the electrical connector.
4. Inspect Camshaft Timing
  • Remove the timing cover by unbolting it and carefully prying it off.
  • Align the timing marks on the crankshaft and camshaft to ensure they are correctly positioned.
  • If misaligned, adjust the timing chain/belt accordingly and recheck alignment.
  • Replace the timing cover and ensure it is sealed properly.
5. Reconnect Battery and Clear Codes
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
  • Use the OBD-II scanner to clear the P0011 code.
  • Start the engine and allow it to reach operating temperature.
