Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts needed for the repair.
  • Disconnect the vehicle's high-voltage battery to ensure safety during repairs.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
2. Replace Cabin Air Filter
  • Tools Required: Torx screwdriver, new cabin air filter.
  • Open the glove compartment and remove any contents.
  • Locate and remove the stops on both sides of the glove compartment to allow it to drop down.
  • Unscrew the cover for the cabin air filter and remove the old filter.
  • Install the new cabin air filter in the correct orientation and reassemble the glove compartment.
3. Recharge Refrigerant
  • Tools Required: AC refrigerant gauge set, refrigerant canister, manifold gauges.
  • Connect the low and high-pressure sides of the gauge set to the AC service ports.
  • Start the vehicle and turn on the AC to maximum.
  • Check the pressure readings; if low, connect the refrigerant canister and allow it to fill until reaching the manufacturer's specified pressure.
  • Disconnect the gauge set and check for leaks.
4. Inspect and Replace AC Compressor (if necessary)
  • Tools Required: Socket set, AC compressor, refrigerant recovery machine.
  • If the compressor is faulty, recover the refrigerant using the recovery machine.
  • Disconnect electrical connectors and remove the compressor mounting bolts.
  • Replace with the new AC compressor and reassemble.
  • Recharge the refrigerant system as detailed above.
