Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts required.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface and is turned off.
  • Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery for safety.
2. Recharge the AC System
  • Tools Required: Manifold gauge set, refrigerant canister, safety goggles, gloves
  • Connect the low-pressure side of the manifold gauge to the AC system service port.
  • Start the engine and turn on the AC to maximum cold.
  • Open the valve on the refrigerant canister and allow refrigerant to flow into the system while monitoring the pressure gauge.
  • Close the valve when the pressure reaches the manufacturer’s recommended level (usually between 25-45 PSI).
3. Inspect and Replace AC Components
  • Tools Required: Socket set, wrenches, AC clutch relay (if needed)
  • If the compressor clutch does not engage, test the AC relay and fuse. Replace if faulty.
  • If the compressor is damaged or leaks are found, remove it using a socket set, disconnecting refrigerant lines carefully to minimize loss of refrigerant.
  • Install a new compressor and refill with refrigerant according to specifications.
4. Clean or Replace Cabin Air Filter
  • Tools Required: Screwdriver (if needed)
  • Locate the cabin air filter access panel (usually behind the glove box).
  • Remove the filter and check for dirt or blockages.
  • Replace with a new filter if it is dirty.
