1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts required: multimeter, socket set, wire brush, battery terminal cleaner, safety goggles, and gloves.

2. Inspect Battery Connections
  • Disconnect the negative terminal first, followed by the positive terminal.
  • Clean the battery terminals and cable ends using a wire brush and battery terminal cleaner to remove any corrosion.
  • Reconnect the positive terminal first, then the negative terminal, ensuring they are tight.
3. Test and Replace Alternator (if necessary)
  • If the alternator output is low (below 13.7 volts), remove the alternator:

    2. Remove the serpentine belt using a serpentine belt tool.
    3. Unbolt the alternator from its mounting and disconnect the electrical connections.
