Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools: OBD-II scanner, multimeter, socket set, torque wrench, and safety goggles.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is cool before starting the repair.
2. Disconnect the Battery
  • Use a socket set to disconnect the negative terminal of the battery to prevent electrical shorts.
  • Wait for at least 10 minutes to allow systems to reset.
3. Access the Oxygen Sensor
  • Locate the bank 1 oxygen sensor, typically found upstream of the catalytic converter.
  • Use a socket set to remove any components obstructing access to the oxygen sensor if necessary.
4. Remove the Faulty Sensor
  • Disconnect the wiring harness from the oxygen sensor by pressing the release tab and pulling it off.
  • Use the appropriate socket to unscrew the oxygen sensor from its mounting location.
