Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Screwdriver set, multimeter, replacement CR2032 battery (or specific battery for the key fob).
  • Ensure the vehicle is in park and the engine is off.
  • Disconnect the vehicle battery for safety (negative terminal).
2. Replace Key Fob Battery
  1. Use a screwdriver to carefully open the key fob casing.
  2. Remove the old battery and note the orientation of the positive (+) side.
  3. Insert the new battery (CR2032 or as specified) in the same orientation.
  4. Reassemble the key fob casing, ensuring it clicks securely back together.
3. Reset Key Fob
  1. Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "ON" position without starting the engine.
  2. Press and hold the “Lock” button for approximately 5 seconds.
  3. Turn the ignition to the “OFF” position and then back to “ON” within 10 seconds.
  4. Press the “Lock” button again to complete the reset process.
4. Inspect Key Fob Receiver
  1. Locate the key fob receiver module, usually found in the steering column or behind the dashboard.
  2. Visually inspect the module and wiring for any signs of damage or loose connections.
  3. If necessary, reconnect any loose wires or replace the receiver module if damaged.
