Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Jack, jack stands, lug wrench, socket set, torque wrench, bearing puller, grease, safety glasses, gloves.
  • Safety Warnings: Always ensure the vehicle is securely lifted and supported on jack stands before working underneath it.
2. Remove Wheel
  • Loosen the lug nuts while the vehicle is on the ground.
  • Lift the vehicle with the jack and secure it with jack stands.
  • Remove the lug nuts completely and take off the wheel.
3. Remove Brake Components
  • Remove the brake caliper by unbolting it from the bracket; hang it using a wire to avoid strain on the brake line.
  • Remove the brake rotor by unscrewing any retaining screws and pulling it off the hub.
4. Remove Old Wheel Bearing
  • Remove the hub assembly if necessary (some models have the bearing pressed into the hub).
  • Use a bearing puller to extract the old wheel bearing from the hub.
  • Clean the hub area thoroughly to prepare for the new bearing.
5. Install New Wheel Bearing
  • Apply grease to the new wheel bearing as per manufacturer specifications.
  • Press the new wheel bearing into the hub using a bearing press or suitable tool.
  • Reinstall the hub assembly if it was removed.
6. Reassemble Brake Components
  • Reattach the brake rotor and secure it with retaining screws if applicable.
  • Reinstall the brake caliper and torque the bolts to manufacturer specifications.
7. Reinstall Wheel
  • Place the wheel back onto the hub and hand-tighten the lug nuts.
  • Lower the vehicle back to the ground and torque the lug nuts to the specified torque rating.
