Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools: flathead screwdriver, new key fob battery (CR2032), multimeter.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked and in a safe area.
2. Open the Key Fob
  • Use a flathead screwdriver to gently pry open the key fob casing.
  • Be careful not to damage the plastic clips holding the fob together.
3. Replace the Battery
  • Remove the old battery from its compartment.
  • Insert the new CR2032 battery, ensuring the positive (+) side faces up.
  • Close the key fob casing securely.
4. Test the Key Fob
  • Stand near the vehicle and press the unlock button on the fob.
  • Observe if the vehicle responds by unlocking the doors.
5. Reprogram the Key Fob (if necessary)
  • If the fob still does not work, reprogram it by following these steps:
    1. Sit in the vehicle and close all doors.
    2. Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "On" position without starting the engine.
    3. Turn the key back to the "Off" position and remove it.
    4. Within 40 seconds, press the "Lock" button on the fob.
    5. Repeat this process for any additional fobs you wish to program.
