Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is in a well-ventilated area and the battery is disconnected for safety.
  • Tools Required: Flathead screwdriver, multimeter, replacement battery (CR2032).
2. Replace Key Fob Battery
  1. Open the Key Fob:

    • Use a flathead screwdriver to gently pry apart the key fob casing.
    • Be careful not to damage the plastic casing.
  2. Remove Old Battery:

    • Take note of the battery orientation (positive and negative sides).
    • Carefully remove the old battery (CR2032) from its compartment.
  3. Install New Battery:

    • Insert the new battery in the same orientation as the old one.
    • Ensure it is seated properly in the compartment.
  4. Reassemble Key Fob:

    • Align the two halves of the key fob and press them together until they click into place.
3. Reprogram Key Fob (if necessary)
  1. Enter Programming Mode:

    • Get in the vehicle and close all doors.
    • Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "On" position without starting the engine.
    • Turn the key back to "Off" and remove it.
  2. Program Key Fob:

    • Press and hold the "Lock" button on the key fob.
    • While holding the "Lock" button, insert the key back into the ignition and turn it to "On" and then back to "Off".
    • Repeat this step two more times (total of three cycles).
    • Release the "Lock" button; the key fob should now be programmed.
