1. Preparation

  2. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
  3. Connect the multimeter in series between the negative battery terminal and the cable.
  4. Observe the current reading; if it exceeds 50 mA, proceed to isolate circuits by pulling fuses one at a time to identify the source of the draw.
  5. Once identified, repair or replace the faulty component or wiring causing the excessive draw.

  2. Remove the battery hold-down bracket using a socket set.
