1. Preparation
  • Gather tools: Small flathead screwdriver, new battery (CR2032), and a multimeter (optional).
  • Ensure the vehicle is in a safe environment, parked, and powered off.
2. Replace the Key Fob Battery
  1. Open the Key Fob:
    • Use the small flathead screwdriver to gently pry open the key fob casing at the seam.
  2. Remove the Old Battery:
    • Carefully take out the old battery, noting the orientation (positive and negative sides).
  3. Install the New Battery:
    • Place the new CR2032 battery in the same orientation as the old one (positive side facing up).
  4. Reassemble the Key Fob:
    • Align the two halves of the key fob and press them together until they click into place.
3. Reprogram the Key Fob (if necessary)
  1. Enter Programming Mode:
    • Sit in the driver’s seat and close all doors.
    • Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "ON" position and back to "OFF" five times within 10 seconds.
