Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and materials.
  • Required tools: brake fluid, turkey baster or siphon pump, clear tubing, brake bleeder kit (if available), wrench for bleeder screws.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface and securely supported with jack stands.
  • Safety warning: Wear gloves and safety goggles, and ensure proper ventilation as brake fluid can be harmful.
2. Remove Old Brake Fluid
  • Use a turkey baster or siphon pump to remove old brake fluid from the reservoir.
  • Dispose of the old brake fluid in accordance with local regulations.
3. Fill with New Brake Fluid
  • Refill the brake fluid reservoir with new brake fluid that meets the specifications (DOT 3 or DOT 4 as per owner’s manual).
  • Avoid overfilling.
4. Bleed Brake Lines
  • Starting with the wheel farthest from the master cylinder (usually the right rear):
    1. Connect clear tubing to the bleeder screw and place the other end in a container.
    2. Have an assistant press the brake pedal several times, then hold it down.
    3. Loosen the bleeder screw to release air and fluid, then retighten it while the pedal is held down.
    4. Repeat until clear, bubble-free fluid comes out.
    5. Check fluid level in the reservoir frequently and refill as necessary.
  • Repeat the process for each wheel in the following order: right rear, left rear, right front, left front.
5. Final Checks
  • After bleeding all brakes, ensure all bleeder screws are tightened securely.
  • Check the reservoir and fill it to the correct level.
  • Test the brake pedal for firmness before driving.
