Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools: flathead screwdriver or trim removal tool, new cabin air filter.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface with the engine off.
  • Disconnect the battery if desired for safety, though not required for this procedure.
2. Accessing the Cabin Air Filter
  1. Locate the glove compartment: Open the glove compartment fully.
  2. Remove the damper: If equipped, detach the damper arm on the right side by squeezing the tabs and pulling it away from the glove compartment.
  3. Remove the glove compartment: Squeeze the sides of the glove compartment inward to release the stops, allowing it to drop down completely.
3. Replacing the Cabin Air Filter
  1. Locate the filter cover: Find the cabin air filter cover, typically situated behind the glove compartment.
  2. Remove the filter cover: Unclip or unscrew the cover to access the cabin air filter.
  3. Remove the old filter: Slide out the old cabin air filter, noting its orientation (airflow direction).
  4. Install the new filter: Insert the new cabin air filter in the same orientation as the old one, ensuring it fits snugly.
4. Reassemble Components
  1. Replace the filter cover: Secure the cabin air filter cover back into position.
  2. Reattach the glove compartment: Lift the glove compartment back into place and ensure it clicks back into its stops.
  3. Reattach the damper: If removed, reconnect the damper arm.
