Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools: small flathead screwdriver, replacement battery (usually CR2032), and a clean workspace.
  • Ensure the vehicle is turned off and all doors are closed.
2. Open the Key Fob
  • Using the small flathead screwdriver, gently pry open the key fob casing at the seam without damaging it.
  • Carefully separate the two halves of the fob to access the internal components.
3. Replace the Battery
  • Remove the old battery from the key fob. Note the orientation of the battery for correct installation.
  • Insert the new battery (CR2032) in the correct orientation, ensuring it sits securely in place.
  • Align the two halves of the fob and press them together until they snap back into place.
4. Reprogram the Key Fob (if necessary)
  • Sit in the vehicle with all doors closed.
  • Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "ON" position (do not start the engine).
  • Turn the key back to "OFF" and remove it from the ignition.
  • Repeat this step 5 times, ending with the key in the "ON" position. The doors should lock and unlock to indicate programming mode.
  • Press any button on the key fob within 30 seconds to complete the programming.
