Solution
1. Preparation
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface.
  • Gather necessary tools: funnel (if using fill plug), clean rag or paper towel.
  • Safety warning: Allow the engine to cool if it was running before checking fluid.
2. Checking Fluid Level via Dipstick (If Equipped)
  • Step 1: Remove the dipstick by pulling it out of the tube.
  • Step 2: Wipe the dipstick clean with a rag.
  • Step 3: Reinsert the dipstick fully back into the tube.
  • Step 4: Pull the dipstick out again and check the fluid level against the marked indicators (Full/Low).
  • Step 5: If the fluid is low, add the recommended transmission fluid using a funnel until it reaches the Full mark.
3. Checking Fluid Level via Fill Plug (If No Dipstick)
  • Step 1: Locate the fill plug on the transmission housing.
  • Step 2: Remove the fill plug using the appropriate socket.
  • Step 3: Check the fluid level by inserting a finger into the fill hole; fluid should be just below the edge of the hole.
  • Step 4: If fluid is low, add the recommended transmission fluid until it starts to trickle out of the fill hole.
  • Step 5: Reinstall the fill plug and tighten it to the manufacturer's torque specification.
