Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools: small flathead screwdriver, new key fob battery (CR2032 or as specified in manual).
  • Ensure the vehicle is in a safe location and that you have access to the owner's manual.
2. Replace Key Fob Battery
  1. Open the Key Fob:

    • Use the small flathead screwdriver to gently pry open the key fob casing along the seam.
    • Be cautious to avoid damaging the plastic clips.
  2. Remove Old Battery:

    • Take note of the battery orientation (positive and negative sides).
    • Carefully remove the old battery from its compartment.
  3. Install New Battery:

    • Insert the new battery in the same orientation as the old battery.
    • Ensure it is seated properly in the compartment.
  4. Reassemble Key Fob:

    • Align the two halves of the key fob and press them together until you hear a click.
    • Ensure there are no gaps along the seam indicating it is not fully closed.
3. Reprogram Key Fob (if necessary)
  1. Enter Programming Mode:

    • Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "On" position without starting the engine.
    • Turn the key back to "Off" and remove it.
  2. Program the Key Fob:

    • Press and hold the "Lock" button on the key fob.
    • While holding the "Lock" button, insert the key back into the ignition and turn it to "On" again.
    • Release the "Lock" button after a few seconds; the key fob should be programmed.
