Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts needed (see Tools Required and Parts Required sections).
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is cool.
2. Replace Spark Plug
  1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
  2. Remove the engine cover if applicable.
  3. Locate the ignition coil for cylinder 2.
  4. Unplug the electrical connector from the ignition coil.
  5. Remove the bolts securing the ignition coil and lift it out.
  6. Use a spark plug socket to remove the spark plug from cylinder 2.
  7. Inspect the old spark plug for wear; replace it if necessary.
  8. Install the new spark plug, ensuring the proper torque (typically 13 lb-ft).
  9. Reinstall the ignition coil and reconnect the electrical connector.
  10. Replace the engine cover if removed.
3. Replace Ignition Coil (if needed)
  1. If the ignition coil was found to be faulty during diagnostics, follow the steps from the previous section to remove it.
  2. Install a new ignition coil for cylinder 2.
  3. Reconnect the electrical connector to the new ignition coil.
4. Inspect and Replace Fuel Injector (if necessary)
  1. If the fuel injector was found to be malfunctioning, locate the fuel rail.
  2. Relieve fuel pressure by removing the fuel pump fuse and running the engine until it stalls.
  3. Disconnect the fuel lines at the injector and remove the retention clips.
  4. Remove the old fuel injector from the rail.
  5. Install the new fuel injector, ensuring it's seated properly.
  6. Reconnect the fuel lines and replace the fuel pump fuse.
