Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Socket set, wrench set, fluid catch pan, transmission fluid, shop towels.
  • Park the vehicle on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
  • Allow the engine to cool completely before starting work.
2. Drain Transmission Fluid
  • Place a fluid catch pan under the transmission pan.
  • Remove the drain plug (if equipped) and allow the fluid to drain completely.
  • If no drain plug is available, remove the transmission pan to drain the fluid.
3. Remove the Damaged Cooler Line
  • Use a wrench to disconnect the fittings at both ends of the leaking cooler line: one end at the transmission and the other at the cooler.
  • Carefully pull out the cooler line and inspect the fittings for damage.
4. Install the New Cooler Line
  • Take the new transmission cooler line and apply thread sealant (if required) to the fittings.
  • Connect one end of the new cooler line to the transmission and the other end to the cooler. Tighten securely but do not overtighten.
  • Ensure the line is routed properly and does not come into contact with any hot surfaces or moving parts.
5. Refill Transmission Fluid
  • Replace the transmission pan (if removed) and tighten all bolts to the manufacturer’s torque specifications.
  • Refill the transmission with the appropriate type of transmission fluid through the dipstick tube.
  • Start the engine and let it idle while cycling through all gear ranges to circulate the fluid.
6. Check for Leaks
  • With the engine running, inspect the newly installed cooler line and fittings for any signs of leakage.
  • If no leaks are present, check the transmission fluid level and add more fluid if necessary.
