Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required:
    • Socket set
    • Torque wrench
    • Fuel line disconnect tool
    • Screwdrivers
    • Safety glasses
    • Gloves
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface and the engine is cool.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
2. Depressurize the Fuel System
  • Locate the fuel pump relay in the fuse box.
  • Start the engine and remove the fuel pump relay. This will stall the engine and relieve pressure in the fuel system.
  • Disconnect the fuel filler cap to further relieve pressure.
3. Remove Engine Cover
  • If applicable, remove any engine covers by unscrewing them using a socket set.
  • Set aside the covers in a safe place.
4. Remove Fuel Rail
  • Disconnect the electrical connectors from the fuel injectors.
  • Use the fuel line disconnect tool to detach the fuel lines from the fuel rail.
  • Unbolt the fuel rail using the appropriate socket size and carefully lift it off the injectors.
5. Replace Fuel Injectors
  • Remove the old fuel injectors from the fuel rail by twisting and pulling them out.
  • Clean the injector ports on the intake manifold.
  • Lubricate the O-rings of the new fuel injectors with a small amount of engine oil.
  • Insert the new fuel injectors into the fuel rail until they click into place.
6. Reinstall Fuel Rail
  • Carefully place the fuel rail back onto the intake manifold, ensuring each injector seats properly.
  • Bolt the fuel rail back in place using the torque specifications provided in the service manual.
  • Reconnect the fuel lines and electrical connectors to the injectors.
7. Reinstall Engine Cover
  • Reattach any engine covers removed earlier and secure them with screws.
8. Reconnect Battery and Test
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
  • Turn the ignition to the "ON" position (without starting) to pressurize the fuel system and check for leaks.
  • Start the engine and monitor for any issues.
