Solution
1. Preparation

2. Inspect and Replace Oxygen Sensors

  1. Locate the upstream (pre-catalytic converter) and downstream (post-catalytic converter) oxygen sensors.
  2. Apply penetrating oil to the threads of the O2 sensors and allow it to soak for a few minutes.
  3. Use the O2 sensor socket to carefully remove both sensors.
  4. Install the new sensors by hand to avoid cross-threading, then tighten to the manufacturer’s torque specifications (typically around 30 lb-ft).
