Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface and the engine is turned off.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent any electrical issues.
2. Recharge Refrigerant
  1. Connect the manifold gauge set to the low and high-pressure service ports on the A/C system.
  2. Check the pressure readings to determine if the refrigerant is low.
  3. If low, add the appropriate refrigerant (R-134a) until the system reaches the correct pressure as indicated on the gauge.
  4. Monitor the system while adding refrigerant to ensure it does not overfill.
3. Replace A/C Compressor (if faulty)
  1. Remove the drive belt by loosening the tensioner pulley.
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector and refrigerant lines from the A/C compressor.
  3. Unbolt the A/C compressor from its mounting bracket and remove it from the engine bay.
  4. Install the new A/C compressor and secure it with the bolts to the mounting bracket.
  5. Reconnect the refrigerant lines and electrical connector.
4. Check and Replace Cabin Air Filter
  1. Open the glove box and remove any contents.
  2. Release the stops on the sides of the glove box to allow it to drop down.
  3. Locate the cabin air filter housing and open it.
  4. Remove the old cabin air filter and install the new one, ensuring it is oriented correctly.
  5. Reassemble the glove box.
5. Reconnect Battery and Test
  1. Reconnect the battery terminals securely.
  2. Start the vehicle and turn on the A/C system to the maximum setting.
  3. Monitor the system for proper operation and listen for any unusual noises.
