1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts needed.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
  • Ensure the engine is cool before starting work.
2. Clean the Throttle Body
  • Remove the air intake duct by loosening the clamps and disconnecting any sensors attached to it.
  • Using throttle body cleaner, spray inside the throttle body and wipe clean with a lint-free cloth.
  • Ensure the throttle plate moves freely. If it sticks, apply cleaner and move the plate manually to free it up.
3. Replace Air Filter
  • Locate the air filter housing and open it by unclipping or unscrewing the cover.
  • Remove the old air filter and inspect the housing for dirt.
  • Install a new air filter, ensuring it fits snugly in place, then reassemble the housing.
4. Inspect and Replace Spark Plugs
  • Remove the ignition coil covers using a socket set.
