Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Park the vehicle on a flat surface and engage the parking brake.
  • Wear safety glasses and gloves.
2. Raise the Vehicle
  • Use a floor jack to lift the front or rear of the vehicle (depending on which struts are leaking).
  • Secure the vehicle with jack stands for safety.
3. Remove the Wheel
  • Use a lug wrench to remove the lug nuts and take off the wheel.
  • Keep lug nuts in a safe place for reinstallation.
4. Remove the Strut Assembly
  • Disconnect the sway bar link from the strut (if applicable).
  • Remove the bolts securing the strut to the steering knuckle using a socket and ratchet.
  • Loosen and remove the top strut mount bolts from under the hood.
  • Carefully pull the strut assembly out of the wheel well.
5. Install New Strut
  • Compare the new strut with the old one to ensure correct part.
  • Insert the new strut into the wheel well and secure it at the top mount.
  • Reattach the strut to the steering knuckle and tighten the bolts to the manufacturer’s torque specifications (typically around 40-50 ft-lbs).
  • Reconnect the sway bar link if applicable.
6. Reassemble and Lower Vehicle
  • Reinstall the wheel and hand-tighten the lug nuts.
  • Lower the vehicle back to the ground using the jack and remove jack stands.
  • Torque the lug nuts to the manufacturer’s specifications (usually around 75-85 ft-lbs).
