Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools: OBD-II scanner, multimeter, socket set, and screwdrivers.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the ignition is off.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
2. Inspect and Replace the Wiper Fuse
  • Locate the fuse box, usually found under the dashboard or in the engine compartment.
  • Identify the windshield wiper fuse using the diagram on the fuse box cover.
  • Remove the fuse with a fuse puller or pliers and inspect for any signs of damage.
  • If blown, replace it with a new fuse of the same amperage.
3. Check and Replace the Wiper Motor
  • Remove the wiper arms by loosening the nuts with a socket set and pulling them off the splines.
  • Disconnect the electrical connector from the wiper motor.
  • Remove the motor mounting bolts with a socket set.
  • Install the new wiper motor by reversing the removal steps and securing it properly.
  • Reconnect the wiper arms to the motor and ensure they are aligned correctly.
4. Test the Wiper Switch
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
  • Use a multimeter to test the wiper switch for continuity across the terminals when activated.
  • If the switch is faulty, remove it from the steering column by unscrewing it and disconnecting the wiring harness.
  • Replace with a new switch and reassemble the steering column.
