Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface and engage the parking brake.
  • Disconnect the battery if you will be working on electrical components.
2. Inspect and Replace Power Steering Fluid
  • Tools Required: Power steering fluid, funnel
  • Remove the power steering reservoir cap and check fluid level.
  • If low, top off with the manufacturer-recommended fluid.
  • If the fluid is dark or contaminated, perform a fluid flush.
3. Replace Worn Steering Components
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, ball joint separator, grease gun
  • Raise the vehicle using a jack and secure it with jack stands.
  • Remove the wheels for better access to the steering components.
  • Inspect and, if necessary, replace tie rods and ball joints:
    • Use the ball joint separator to detach the ball joints from the knuckle.
    • Remove the tie rod ends and replace them with new ones.
    • Reassemble and torque to manufacturer specifications.
4. Inspect and Replace CV Joints
  • Tools Required: Socket set, CV joint removal tool
  • Remove the wheel again and inspect the CV joint boots for tears or leaks.
  • If damaged, remove the axle nut and detach the CV axle from the hub.
  • Replace the CV axle if the joint is worn or damaged; use new grease as specified.
5. Wheel Bearing Inspection
  • Tools Required: Socket set, bearing puller
  • Check for play in the wheel bearings by shaking the wheel at 12 and 6 o’clock.
  • If play is noticed, remove the hub assembly and replace the bearings using a bearing press.
