Solution

1. Preparation

• Gather necessary tools and parts.
• Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is off.
• Disconnect the battery for safety.

2. Check Fluid Level

• Locate the power steering fluid reservoir.
• Remove the cap and check the fluid level; add manufacturer-recommended power steering fluid if low.
• Inspect the fluid for contamination (milky appearance indicates water intrusion).

3. Inspect and Replace Hoses

• Visually inspect power steering hoses for cracks or leaks.
• If any hoses are damaged, use the socket set to disconnect them from the reservoir and steering rack.
• Replace damaged hoses with OEM parts, securing them with new clamps.

4. Test and Replace Power Steering Pump

• Disconnect the pump from the serpentine belt by removing the belt tensioner.
• Unbolt the pump from its mounting bracket and disconnect the fluid lines.
• Install the new power steering pump and connect the fluid lines securely.
• Reattach the serpentine belt and ensure proper tension.

5. Bleed the Power Steering System
