Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts.

2. Clean or Replace Air Filter
  • Remove the air filter housing cover.
  • Take out the air filter and inspect for dirt and debris.
  • If clogged, replace with a new air filter. Ensure it is seated properly before reattaching the housing cover.
3. Test and Replace Fuel Pump (if needed)
  • Connect a fuel pressure gauge to the fuel rail.
  • Turn the ignition to the “ON” position (without starting the engine) and check the pressure reading against the manufacturer specifications.
  • If the pressure is low, disconnect the fuel lines and replace the fuel pump as follows:
    1. Relieve fuel system pressure by removing the fuel pump fuse and running the engine until it stalls.
    2. Disconnect the battery.
    3. Remove the fuel tank access cover (if applicable) or lower the fuel tank.
    4. Disconnect the fuel lines and electrical connectors from the pump.
    5. Remove the old pump and install the new one, ensuring proper sealing and connections.
