Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts: OBD-II scanner, multimeter, socket set, headlight bulbs, dielectric grease.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is off.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shock.
2. Clean Headlight Lenses
  • Use a headlight restoration kit or a mixture of baking soda and water.
  • Apply the cleaning solution to the lenses using a soft cloth, and scrub gently.
  • Rinse with clean water and dry with a microfiber cloth.
3. Replace Headlight Bulbs
  • Remove the headlight assembly by unscrewing the retaining screws and unclipping any retaining tabs.
  • Disconnect the headlight connector from the bulb.
  • Remove the old bulb by twisting it counterclockwise and pulling it out.
  • Install the new bulb by inserting it and twisting it clockwise to secure.
  • Reconnect the headlight connector.
4. Check and Clean Ground Connections
  • Locate the ground wire connection for the headlights, usually found near the battery or headlight assembly.
  • Remove the ground connection bolt and clean any corrosion from the terminal and grounding point.
  • Reattach the ground connection and ensure it is tight.
5. Test Headlight Functionality
  • Reconnect the battery.
  • Turn on the headlights to check if brightness has improved.
  • If problems persist, check the headlight switch and wiring for potential issues.
