1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools: flathead screwdriver, multimeter, new key fob battery (CR2032), and OBD-II scanner.
  • Ensure the vehicle is turned off, and all accessories are disabled.
2. Replace Key Fob Battery
  • Open the key fob using a flathead screwdriver, carefully prying it apart at the seam.
  • Remove the old battery, noting the orientation (positive side facing up).
  • Insert the new battery into the fob, ensuring the correct orientation.
  • Snap the fob back together securely.
3. Reprogram Key Fob (if necessary)
  • Sit inside the vehicle with all doors closed.
  • Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "ON" position (do not start the engine) and back to "OFF" five times within 10 seconds.
