Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Park the vehicle on a flat surface and engage the parking brake.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to ensure safety.
2. Inspect and Replace Power Steering Fluid
  • Locate the power steering fluid reservoir.
  • Remove the cap and check fluid level; if low, fill with the manufacturer's recommended fluid.
  • If the fluid is dark or contaminated, drain and replace it using a turkey baster or siphon.
3. Inspect and Replace CV Joints
  • Raise the front of the vehicle using jack stands.
  • Remove the front wheels using a socket set.
  • Inspect the CV boots for tears or leaks. If damaged, replace the CV joint assembly.
    • Sub-steps:
      • Remove the axle nut using a socket.
      • Disconnect the lower control arm from the knuckle.
      • Slide the CV axle out of the transmission and replace it with a new one.
      • Reassemble all components in reverse order and torque to specifications (usually around 150 ft-lbs for the axle nut).
4. Check and Replace Wheel Bearings (if necessary)
  • With the wheel off, grab the wheel at 12 and 6 o'clock positions and check for play.
  • If play is detected, remove the brake caliper and rotor to access the wheel bearing.
  • Replace the wheel bearing by pressing it out and installing a new one using a bearing press.
5. Final Assembly
  • Reinstall the wheels and lower the vehicle.
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
  • Torque the wheel lug nuts to the manufacturer's specifications (usually around 76 ft-lbs).
