Solution

1. Preparation

• Tools Required: OBD-II scanner, multimeter, socket set, torque wrench, fuel pressure gauge, wiring diagram for the fuel system.
• Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
• Allow the engine to cool down before starting any work.

2. Inspect and Repair Wiring

• Visually inspect the wiring harness connected to the fuel volume regulator.
  • Look for frayed wires, corrosion, or loose connections.
• If any damage is found, repair or replace the wiring as necessary.
• Ensure all connectors are securely attached.

3. Test and Replace Fuel Volume Regulator

• Disconnect the fuel volume regulator connector.
• Using the multimeter, check for voltage at the connector while turning the ignition to the "ON" position (do not start the engine).
  • Expected voltage should be around 5V to 12V; if absent, trace the circuit back to the ECM.
• If the voltage is present, proceed to remove the fuel volume regulator:
