Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather all necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface and the ignition is turned off.
  • Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery to prevent electrical issues.
2. Access the Cabin Air Filter
  1. Locate the cabin air filter access panel, which is typically found behind the glove box.
  2. Open the glove box and remove any contents.
  3. Gently press in on the sides of the glove box to release it from the retaining stops and lower it fully.
3. Remove the Old Cabin Air Filter
  1. Locate the cabin air filter cover; it will be held in place by tabs or clips.
  2. Carefully unclip or unscrew the cover to expose the cabin air filter.
  3. Pull the old cabin air filter straight out of its housing; note the orientation for the new filter.
4. Install the New Cabin Air Filter
  1. Take the new cabin air filter and ensure it is oriented correctly (look for airflow direction arrows on the filter).
  2. Slide the new filter into the housing, making sure it fits snugly.
  3. Reattach the cabin air filter cover, ensuring it is securely fastened.
5. Reassemble the Glove Box
  1. Lift the glove box back into position and press the sides to snap it back into the retaining stops.
  2. Replace any contents removed from the glove box.
6. Final Checks
  1. Reconnect the battery terminal.
  2. Start the vehicle and test the HVAC system to ensure proper airflow and check for any unusual noises.
