Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools: small screwdriver, replacement battery (typically CR2032), and a multimeter.
  • Ensure you are in a well-lit area and have a clean workspace.
2. Replace the Key Fob Battery
  • Step 1: Open the key fob casing using a small screwdriver. Insert the screwdriver into the seam and gently pry it open.
  • Step 2: Remove the old battery by noting the orientation of the battery (positive side up) and carefully lifting it out.
  • Step 3: Insert the new battery in the same orientation as the old one.
  • Step 4: Snap the key fob casing back together securely.
3. Reprogram the Key Fob
  • Step 1: Sit in the driver’s seat and close all doors.
  • Step 2: Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "ON" position (do not start the engine), then back to "OFF" five times within 10 seconds.
  • Step 3: After the fifth turn, leave the key in the "ON" position. The door locks should cycle to indicate programming mode.
  • Step 4: Press any button on the key fob once. The locks will cycle again to confirm successful programming.
  • Step 5: Turn the ignition off to exit programming mode.
