Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Park the vehicle on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
  • Tools Required:
    • Socket set
    • Funnel
    • Clean rag
  • Safety Warnings: Allow the engine to cool before working on the power steering system.
2. Locate the Power Steering Reservoir
  • Open the hood and locate the power steering fluid reservoir.
  • Remove the cap and wipe the area around the cap with a clean rag to prevent contamination.
3. Fill the Reservoir
  • Using a funnel, add the recommended power steering fluid to the reservoir until it reaches the "full" mark.
  • Ensure you are using the correct type of fluid as specified in the owner’s manual.
4. Bleed the System
  • Start the engine and let it idle.
  • Slowly turn the steering wheel from lock to lock (full left to full right) several times (approximately 10-15 times).
  • This action allows the power steering pump to push fluid through the system and expel air.
5. Check Fluid Level and Repeat
  • After the steering wheel has been turned fully in both directions, turn off the engine.
  • Check the fluid level in the reservoir and add more fluid if necessary.
  • Repeat the process of turning the steering wheel and checking fluid levels until no bubbles are present in the reservoir and the fluid level remains consistent.
6. Final Inspection
  • Inspect for any leaks around the power steering hoses and connections.
  • Replace the reservoir cap securely.
