Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to avoid electrical shorts.
  • Allow the engine to cool before proceeding with any work.
2. Clean the Throttle Body
  • Remove the air intake duct to access the throttle body.
  • Using throttle body cleaner and a soft cloth, gently clean the interior of the throttle body, focusing on the throttle plate and surrounding areas.
  • Reattach the air intake duct securely.
3. Test and Clean the Idle Air Control Valve (IAC)
  • Locate the IAC valve on the throttle body.
  • Remove the IAC valve connector and the mounting screws.
  • Clean the IAC valve using electronic cleaner and a soft brush.
  • Reinstall the IAC valve and reconnect the connector.
4. Check and Clean the Mass Airflow Sensor (MAF)
  • Disconnect the MAF sensor connector.
  • Remove the MAF sensor from the air intake duct.
  • Spray MAF cleaner onto the sensing elements (do not touch them).
  • Reinstall the MAF sensor and reconnect the connector.
5. Inspect and Repair Vacuum Leaks
  • Visually inspect all vacuum hoses for cracks or disconnections.
  • Replace any damaged hoses.
  • Use carburetor cleaner while the engine is running to identify leaks (the engine RPM will change if a leak is found).
