Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and safety equipment.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
  • Relieve fuel system pressure by removing the fuel pump fuse and starting the engine until it stalls.
2. Remove Engine Cover
  • Remove any screws or fasteners securing the engine cover using a socket set.
  • Carefully lift off the engine cover to access the fuel injectors.
3. Disconnect Fuel Injectors
  • Carefully disconnect the electrical connectors from each fuel injector by pressing the release tab and pulling them off.
  • Use a fuel line disconnect tool if necessary to remove the fuel line from the fuel rail.
4. Remove Fuel Injectors
  • Use a socket wrench to remove the bolts securing the fuel rail to the intake manifold.
  • Gently lift the fuel rail away from the engine, taking care not to damage the injectors.
  • Remove the fuel injectors from the fuel rail by carefully pulling them out.
5. Inspect and Clean
  • Inspect each injector for clogs or carbon deposits. If necessary, clean using a fuel injector cleaning kit or ultrasonic cleaner.
  • Replace any damaged O-rings on the injectors.
6. Reinstall Fuel Injectors
  • Insert the cleaned or new injectors back into the fuel rail, ensuring they seat properly.
  • Reattach the fuel rail to the intake manifold and secure it with the bolts, torquing them to manufacturer specifications.
7. Reconnect Fuel Injectors and Electrical Connectors
  • Reconnect the fuel line to the fuel rail and ensure it is securely attached.
  • Reconnect the electrical connectors to each fuel injector.
8. Reassemble Engine Cover
  • Place the engine cover back onto the engine and secure it with the screws or fasteners.
9. Restore Fuel System Pressure
  • Reinstall the fuel pump fuse and reconnect the negative battery terminal.
  • Turn the ignition to the "ON" position a few times to prime the fuel system, then start the engine.
