Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Socket set, screwdriver set, throttle body cleaner, clean rags, safety glasses, gloves.
  • Park the vehicle on a level surface, engage the parking brake, and disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
2. Remove Air Intake Duct
  • Locate the air intake duct connected to the throttle body.
  • Use a screwdriver or socket to loosen the clamps securing the duct.
  • Carefully remove the duct, ensuring not to damage any sensors attached.
3. Access the Throttle Body
  • Identify any electrical connectors and vacuum hoses connected to the throttle body.
  • Disconnect the electrical connectors by pressing the tab and pulling gently.
  • Remove any vacuum hoses by carefully twisting and pulling them off.
4. Clean the Throttle Body
  • Spray throttle body cleaner onto a clean rag or directly into the throttle body opening.
  • Use a soft brush or cloth to scrub the inside of the throttle body, focusing on removing carbon buildup from the throttle plate and surrounding areas.
  • Ensure the throttle plate can open and close freely without obstruction.
5. Reassemble Components
  • Reconnect all vacuum hoses and electrical connectors to the throttle body, ensuring they are secure.
  • Reattach the air intake duct and tighten the clamps properly.
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
