Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts needed for the repair.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
  • Allow the engine to cool if it has been running.
2. Inspect and Replace Spark Plug (if necessary)
  1. Remove the engine cover (if applicable) using a socket set.
  2. Disconnect the ignition coil connector for cylinder 2.
  3. Remove the ignition coil by unscrewing bolts and pulling it straight out.
  4. Remove the spark plug using a spark plug socket.
  5. Inspect the spark plug; if worn or fouled, replace it with a new one (OEM recommended).
  6. Reinstall the spark plug, torque to manufacturer specifications (typically around 13 lb-ft).
  7. Reinstall the ignition coil and reconnect the connector.
3. Inspect and Replace Fuel Injector (if necessary)
  1. Remove the intake manifold if the fuel injector is not accessible.
  2. Disconnect the fuel rail connector and relieve fuel pressure by removing the fuel pump fuse and starting the engine until it stalls.
  3. Remove the bolts securing the fuel rail; gently pull it away from the injectors.
  4. Remove the old fuel injector from the rail.
  5. Install the new fuel injector with new O-rings (lubricate with engine oil).
  6. Reconnect the fuel rail and reconnect the fuel pump fuse.
  7. Reinstall the intake manifold if it was removed.
4. Check and Repair Electrical Connections
  1. Inspect wiring and connectors to the ignition coil and fuel injector for damage or corrosion.
  2. Clean or repair any damaged connections using electrical contact cleaner and dielectric grease.
  3. Ensure all connections are secure.
