Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts needed for the repair.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to ensure safety.
  • Allow the vehicle to cool down if it was recently in operation.
2. Replace Cabin Air Filter
  • Tools Required: Screwdriver, replacement cabin air filter.
  • Locate the cabin air filter access panel, usually found behind the glove box.
  • Remove the screws or clips securing the panel and take it off.
  • Slide out the old cabin air filter and replace it with a new one.
  • Reattach the access panel and ensure it is securely fastened.
3. Recharge AC System
  • Tools Required: Manifold gauge set, refrigerant canister, safety goggles, gloves.
  • Connect the low-pressure side of the manifold gauge to the AC service port.
  • Check the pressure readings; if low, proceed to recharge the system with the appropriate refrigerant (R134a or R1234yf based on the model).
  • Start the engine and turn on the AC to maximum cold while monitoring the gauge.
  • Disconnect the manifold gauge and recap the service port when done.
4. Replace AC Compressor (if necessary)
  • Tools Required: Socket set, AC compressor replacement, new O-rings, torque wrench.
  • Locate the AC compressor and disconnect the electrical connector and the refrigerant lines.
  • Unbolt the compressor from its mounting bracket.
  • Remove the old compressor and install the new one, ensuring to replace any O-rings.
  • Torque the bolts to manufacturer specifications and reconnect the refrigerant lines and electrical connector.
5. Test AC System
  • After repairs, reconnect the negative battery terminal.
  • Start the vehicle and test the AC system for proper operation.
  • Monitor the system for any unusual noises or leaks.
