Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts needed.
  • Tools required: Multimeter, socket set, Phillips screwdriver, wire brush, electrical contact cleaner.
  • Safety warnings: Disconnect the battery before working on electrical systems.
2. Replace Headlight Bulbs
  • Remove the headlight assembly by unscrewing the retaining screws.
  • Disconnect the wiring harness from the back of the headlight.
  • Remove the old bulbs by twisting them counterclockwise and pulling them out.
  • Install new bulbs by inserting them into the socket and twisting clockwise to secure.
  • Reconnect the wiring harness and reinstall the headlight assembly.
3. Test Battery and Alternator
  • Reconnect the battery and start the engine.
  • Use a multimeter to measure the battery voltage; it should read between 12.4V - 12.7V when the engine is off.
  • With the engine running, measure the voltage at the battery terminals again; it should read between 13.8V - 14.4V. If not, replace the alternator.
4. Inspect Ground Connections
  • Locate the ground point for the headlight circuit, usually near the battery or on the chassis.
  • Clean any corrosion from the ground point using a wire brush and apply electrical contact cleaner.
  • Tighten the grounding bolt to ensure a solid connection.
5. Check Wiring Harness
  • Visually inspect the wiring harness for signs of damage.
  • Repair any frayed wires or poor connections using electrical tape or replacement connectors as needed.
