Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Park the vehicle on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
  • Use jack stands to secure the vehicle after raising it.
2. Replace Damaged Shocks/Struts
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, spring compressor (if applicable), pry bar.
  • Remove the wheel from the affected corner using a socket set.
  • Loosen and remove the bolts securing the shock/strut assembly to the control arm and the vehicle body.
  • If necessary, use a spring compressor to safely remove the coil spring from the old strut.
  • Install the new strut with the coil spring (if applicable) and reattach all bolts, tightening them to the manufacturer's specified torque values.
3. Replace Worn Bushings
  • Inspect and remove any control arm bushings that show signs of wear.
  • Use a pry bar to leverage out the old bushings.
  • Clean the control arm housing and install the new bushings by pressing them into place or using a bushing tool.
4. Wheel Alignment
  • After replacing suspension components, perform a wheel alignment.
  • Use a wheel alignment machine to adjust the camber, caster, and toe settings according to manufacturer specifications.
